The Student Experience

Joining Windsor Sixth Form

Becoming a Team and Getting to Know Each Other

As students move into Windsor Sixth Form they will be getting to know a new range of people and preparing to work in different types of groups. At Sixth Form level, student learning is quite self motivated and so students must work with their peers to achieve their maximum potential.

Getting to know one another and team building are therefore really important at the start of the Sixth Form experience so a special residential for Year 12 students is arranged to kick start this process.

Year 12 Residential

In September every year, the new Year 12 cohort attend a weekend residential trip.

The trip is a fantastic opportunity for new students to get to know each other and find out more about the day to day running of the Sixth Form, before actually starting their courses.

The year group is made up of students who have joined us from Windsor and other surrounding schools. By the end of the trip new friendships are made and students are raring to get started with their studies.

“Life at Windsor Sixth Form is great! I especially enjoyed the residential, it was a fantastic way to meet new people and build relationships” Bailey Jeavons

“The residential is a great way to start Sixth Form. As a person from a different secondary school it helped me to make friends as sharing a room with different people gave you the opportunity to get to know each other. A lot of activities were team building which is brilliant for making friends. The place we stayed at was nice and so was the food. I had a really good time and came back with memories and stories to laugh about. It was a great experience and well worth doing.” Kate Hopkins
