Senior Leaders

Senior Leadership

The National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) provides national recognition of leadership development and professional achievement as a senior leader. NPQSL is for those individuals who not only have responsibility for leading a team, but are also involved in leading a range of issues that affect the whole school or organisation. It’s aimed at current and aspirant senior leaders, including experienced middle leaders, deputy heads, SENCOs and advanced skills teachers and other senior staff looking for further professional development but not aspiring to headship at this stage in their career.
This qualification will support you in becoming a highly effective senior leader with the skills, confidence and knowledge to contribute to the strategic development of your school or organisation as part of the senior leadership team.

In September 2107 the NPQSL delivered in this region will be an entirely new programme with new modules refined to meet the current needs of senior leaders. This can be delivered in different ways across the country so please consider fully what will be included with your chosen provider and how this is delivered.

With an established provider such as Windsor you will get the following :

Modules are delivered in twilight sessions as we know this has the least impact on your students whilst giving you the most opportunity to embed your learning over the course of a full year. Click here to see more detail of the sessions.

Growing Heads

This programme has been designed to bridge the gap between NPQSL and NPQH. It is a practical course which will engage you in an in-school project with one of your Governors and will give you a secure, expert environment to discuss, test and develop all aspects of your senior leadership role.

For senior leaders who are interested in undertaking NPQH or executive headship development we work with a number of partners to ensure that these are available. Please contact ahalford@windsoracademytrust.org.uk to find out more.
