Windsor High School welcomed not one but two special guests to speak at this year’s Sports Awards Ceremony on Thursday 18th October. It was great to have Natalie Haythornthwaite English Netball player, who was part of the England squad that won gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, join us along with former Windsor student and Captain of Birmingham City Ladies FC, Kerys Harrop.
The event took place in the Sixth Form Sports Hall where 103 students were joined by their parents to see over 150 prizes awarded to students from Year 7 all the way through to Year 13. The audience were also treated to a student performance to ‘This is me’ from The Greatest Showman’.
A new prize was introduced this year in honour of former teacher of PE, Mr Stuart Wilmore. This special award will be presented each year for Outstanding Commitment to Extra-curricular PE at Windsor.
It was an enormously successful event with many students and their parents celebrating sporting successes from over the past year.
